Changes to TDG Legislation / Training
Hey there all you Cats!!! Following-up on my post about changes to TDG Training/Legislation... The Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) has released CAN/CGSB-192.3-2020: TDG Training, Assessment & Competency Training Standard. Within this standard you will find that there will be a requirement for the Employer to create a Task List, define the specific tasks that relate to TDG, and then ensure competency & compliance through a series of "practical evaluations/demonstrations" related to each task for each Employee involved in TDG...
This is a large change to TDG!
I can help you in 2 ways:
1) I can deliver the theory/awareness training AND oversee the practical evaluations after you have created the job-specific task-list (I can help with the list too)... or
2) I can deliver the theory/awareness training, provide you with a guidance-document to conduct the practical evaluations, and then come and perform a summary-audit of your practical compliance efforts, to determine if you have met compliance requirements...
From the info I can find, the expectation for this WAS to be in-place is Q#3 or Q#4, 2023...

Why have a Safe Workplace?
Well beyond the Federal & Provincial Legislative requirements, beyond the financial benefits of having a safe workplace with fewer injuries & therefore fewer claims, beyond creating a "competent" & compliant workforce that chooses to do a good job, a safe job, willingly and voluntarily...we have a responsibility to protect people / help them protect themselves, and we should be deeply interested in improving peoples qualifications & skills to make them the best & most valuable they can be. This is good workplace safety!!!
